Corporate Calibration Technician

J&J Calibration Service Inc., an accredited Metrology Company, has a career opportunity as a Corporate Calibration Technician.  Due to our continued growth, we are looking for individuals that want to join our team and build a strong stable career as a professional in the metrology industry.

Job Description: Corporate Calibration Technician reports to the Technical Manager.  The Corporate Calibration Technician will travel to customer facilities to perform calibration and adjustment of measuring instruments found in a variety of industries, including micrometers, torque wrenches, electronics, temperature, and pressure instrumentation. Participates in company career development courses.

 

Related trades: Machinist, Mechanic, Electrical Technician, Quality Technician, Military PMEL/TMDE/GPETE

 

Requirements:

  • Scheduled Overnight Travel required

  • US citizen or US permanent resident status

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

  • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License

  • 2 year College degree in electrical or mechanical fields or 2 years’ experience in related trade

  • Proficient in one discipline of calibration and familiar with a variety of other diciplines

  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within three months of employment

  • Experience in using measurement equipment: dimensional tools, multi-meters, pressure gages, or torque wrenches

  • Military PMEL/TMDE/GPETE training preferred but not required

  • Good customer service skills and organizational skills

  • Strong and reliable work ethic

  • Experience using computers

 

This is a full time position Mon- Fri 7:30am to 4pm.   Hourly wage based on experience/training. Apprentice Calibration Technician

J&J Calibration Service Inc., an accredited Metrology Company, is currently taking applications for our Apprentice Calibration Technician program. 

The Apprentice Calibration Technician Program is designed to build the foundation for success in Metrology, the science of measurement, becoming a knowledgeable professional.  You will be trained and tested on knowledge and application of company policy, safety, customer service and calibration of instruments.  Completion of the program and becoming a Corporate Calibration Technician is dependent on the individual, typically 1-2 yrs.

 

The Apprentice Technician will report to the Technical Manager.  The apprentice will learn calibration and adjustment of measuring instruments found in a variety of industries, including micrometers, torque wrenches, electronics, temperature, and pressure instrumentation.  Increase knowledge and skills in the career of metrology through on the job training and company career development courses.

Requirements:

  • Scheduled Overnight Travel required

  • US citizen or US permanent resident status

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, multi-meters and other precision measuring hand tools

  • Experience working in a mechanical or electrical trade

  • Good customer service and organizational skills

  • Strong work ethics

  • Experience using computers
